A loud blast near a sweet shop in Prashant Vihar, Delhi, caused concern on Thursday morning. The incident occurred close to a PVR multiplex, drawing the attention of the public and authorities. A white powder-like substance was reportedly found at the scene, raising questions about the nature of the explosion.

According to police reports, the explosion happened around 11:48 AM near the boundary wall of a park adjoining the sweet shop, Bansi Wala. One individual suffered minor injuries and was promptly treated at a hospital before being discharged.

Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Tyagi confirmed the presence of specialized teams, including forensics and the special cell, to investigate the site thoroughly. “The cause of the explosion is being ascertained, and no suspects have been identified as of now,” Tyagi stated.

Visuals from the site showed white smoke emerging from the park area near the shop. Fire tenders quickly responded to the incident, with four vehicles deployed to ensure public safety.

The National Security Guard (NSG) team, accompanied by sniffer dogs, also arrived to inspect the scene and gather further evidence. Authorities are treating the matter seriously, although preliminary reports suggest it may have been caused by a crude explosive device.

This incident follows a similar explosion in October at a CRPF school in Prashant Vihar, which also caused property damage but fortunately resulted in no injuries.

The blast near the PVR multiplex in Prashant Vihar has heightened public concerns, with authorities working diligently to uncover the cause. While initial investigations suggest a crude bomb may be involved, the investigation is ongoing. Residents are advised to remain vigilant but not panic as the police continue their inquiry.
